<p>The Global Markets engineering team is focusing on evolving our guest and host experience for global markets through new product initiatives to accelerate international growth. Expanding in under-penetrated global markets is a key pillar of Airbnb's growth strategy. To achieve this, we want to innovate in every sense of the word and adapt our product to every corner of the globe. We want every user in each of our 220+ countries and regions to feel right at home. </p>

<p>We are a remote team based in different cities in China, and we meet up in person regularly to collaborate, connect and celebrate.</p>

<p><strong>The Difference You Will Make:</strong></p>

<p>As a senior iOS engineer on the mobile team, you will tackle the unique technical challenges of building for global markets — locale-aware UI, market-specific features and integrations, and performance optimization across diverse conditions. You will work on projects spanning the full product surface, from signup/login, search, PDP, checkout, and reviews to foundational components like maps, networking and logging.</p>

<p>You will partner closely with PMs, designers, data scientists, and engineers across both our China-based team and Global partner teams to ship features that make millions of users across under-penetrated markets feel right at home. As a senior team member, you will also play a key role in raising the engineering bar through code reviews, tech design reviews, and mentoring. </p>

<p><strong>A Typical Day: </strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Partner with cross-functional teams (PM, Design, DS, QA) and Global engineering teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions and help shape the roadmap</li>

<li>Write and review technical designs for large, open-ended problems — from market-specific product features to foundational mobile infrastructure</li>

<li>Write clean, testable, and maintainable Swift code to ship polished, pixel-perfect user experiences</li>

<li>Mentor and support the career growth of other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical guidance</li>

<li>As the tech lead of a project, drive end-to-end delivery, communicate progress to stakeholders, and own the overall quality across the full release cycle</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Your Expertise:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>5+ years of iOS development experience; proficient in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Core Animation / Core Graphics</li>

<li>Proficient in applying AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate development workflows — from tech design, to code generation, debugging, to code review and documentation</li>

<li>Strong product sense with a proven ability to build pixel-perfect interfaces and fluid animations </li>

<li>Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and navigating ambiguous challenges</li>

<li>Strong cross-team collaboration skills with excellent English communication; experience working in globally distributed teams or building products for diverse markets is a plus</li>

<p><strong>Your Location</strong></p>

<p>This position is China - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Your recruiter will inform you what cities you are able to work from depending on your personal legal working identity and Airbnb internal policies.</p>
