This role requires a commitment of 4 days in-office per week at our facility in Garden Grove, CA as well as full-time hours (40 hours a week).</span></li>

<li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Relocation Support:</strong> A $1,000 relocation stipend is available for interns currently residing more than 50 miles from Garden Grove, CA.</span></li>

<h3><strong>Job Summary</strong><strong>:</strong></h3>

<p>We seek an ambitious engineering student to join our team to assist with electrical engineering design and test projects on electric vehicle prototypes and associated test apparatus. As part of a small (~6 person) power electronics team, this role offers a significant opportunity to acquire hands-on automotive engineering experience as well as high level knowledge of electric vehicle systems, engineering and product design processes, and vehicle testing. The role also offers the opportunity to build valuable experience at a fast paced, high growth startup during a critical early product development stage.</p>

<h3><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></h3>

<ul>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Sizing and design of power electronics components such as inverter, on-board battery chargers, DC-DC converter for commercial trucks.</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Hands-on testing, bring-up and validation of power converters / motor controllers.</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Mixed-signal PCB design based on IPC and IEC standards</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Worst case circuit analysis on critical areas of the overall system. </li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Circuit simulation using LTspice and PLECS.</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Collaborate with mechanical designers to integrate electrical devices in product designs</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Write technical reports and present at design reviews</li>

</ul>

<h3><strong>What You'll Bring:</strong></h3>

<ul>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Thorough understanding of analog electronics circuits, digital electronic circuits, power supply design, magnetics design and control theory</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Prior coursework and experience with Power Electronics and high voltage systems.</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Working knowledge of High voltage systems in automotive.</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience in hands-on electrical fabrication and/or troubleshooting</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience in basic PCB layout </li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience in setup and use of data acquisition systems</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Currently registered in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program focused on Power electronics.</li>
