Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Stripe Brand Studio is a multidisciplinary team that accelerates the awareness and trajectory of our brand. We craft the creative vision and strategy for different types of projects and audiences, and amplify them across various mediums, channels, objects to environments, and digital and physical experiences.

The Stripe brand identity team is responsible for defining and evolving Stripe's visual identity, and bringing the Stripe brand to life in new and impactful ways across surfaces. Our goal is to enable the creation of a coherent, high-quality brand experience across the user journey, building recognition and trust in Stripe at every turn. We collaborate with other design systems teams to translate our brand for Stripe.com and Dashboard, and partner with teams across Stripe on high impact user-facing projects to create work that feels authentic to Stripe at scale.

What you'll do

Following our 2025 brand refresh, Stripe’s visual identity is evolving to meet the scale of our global ambitions. To maintain our high bar for craft and beauty while moving at the speed of our product suite, we are looking for a Brand Designer to lead our Self-Serve Design ecosystem.

In this role, you will be the bridge between our core brand identity and its execution across Stripe. You won’t just be building templates; you’ll be building a scalable design language that empowers every Stripe to communicate with excellence. This is a high-impact, high-ownership position where you will help define the roadmap for how our brand scales, ensuring that even the most decentralized assets feel cohesive, intentional, and beautiful.

Responsibilities

Elevate a flexible, world-class brand system that exemplifies Stripe's commitment to craft and beauty across all surfaces

Architect and evolve a library of assets and templates that empower cross-functional partners to ship brand-aligned work independently

Define the self-serve roadmap and strategy for how non-design teams create on-brand assets at scale, prioritizing high-leverage AI tools and systems

Partner directly with the systems team to seamlessly translate foundational brand updates into the broader ecosystem

Act as the creative lead for external vendors and internal producers to ensure all artifacts meet our rigorous quality standards

Audit and iterate on asset libraries to identify gaps and build innovative, scalable design solutions

Stay curious and experimental as an adamant maker, obsessed with tinkering and iterating to create beautiful things

Shape a strategic vision that pushes brand boundaries and builds internal awareness of design's impact at Stripe

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

6+ years of relevant design and art direction experience for technical and product-driven companies

Strong track record independently delivering work as well as influencing the work of other designers, contractors, and agencies

Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration across teams and disciplines

A strong strategic acumen for building leading brands in a fast-paced, global-facing environment

Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Google Slides

Excellent craft

Preferred qualifications

Are genuinely curious, ambitious, and creative with a refreshing sense of design, impeccable typography skills, digitally savvy and deep appreciation for creative process, technology, and design engineering

Are persuasive and humble in explaining your work, process, and decisions, and experienced at facilitating stakeholders to advance the project as well as design quality

Have experience building and prototyping with AI tools

Have excellent organization and presentation skills, and excel in written and verbal communication

Love working with other designers to help them learn and grow—and invite them to help you learn and grow
