<p><strong>About the job</strong></p>

<p>This position is needed to develop the future platform of communications. Twilio SMS Engineering is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team to work on our SMS connectivity layer with the purpose to build and optimize for delivery. You will be developing a complex distributed platform in Java and be concerned with availability, throughput, latency, and data integrity. At the core are cloud technologies that enable deployment and management of computing resources globally.</p>

<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>

<p>In this role, you’ll:</p>

<ul>

<li>Design, develop, test and deploy features alongside an experienced, distributed collaborative team</li>

<li>Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.</li>

<li>Work independently to troubleshoot/determine resolution for issues in your team's domain</li>

<li>Managing your work through the use of Github, Jira, and our build/deploy systems</li>

<li>Ensure quality by writing unit-, integration- and load-tests</li>

<li>Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.</li>

<p><strong>*Required:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Experience with Java frameworks such as Dropwizard, Spring, Hibernate, or similar.</li>

<li>Experience with Cloud services (AWS preferred, Google, Azure etc.)</li>

<li>Strong Computer Science fundamentals not limited to data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems</li>

<li>Knowledge of processes and engineering best practices in all phases of the software development life cycle</li>

<li>Readiness to participate in the on-call rotation</li>

<li>Strong communication skills and desire to make an impact and thrive in small, collaborative, energetic teams</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Desired:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Experience with microservice architecture</li>

<li>Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies</li>

<li>Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Location</strong></p>

<p>This role will be remote and based in Estonia.</p>

<p><strong>Travel </strong></p>
