<p>Airbnb’s Public Policy campaign team exists to further the interests of our community of hosts and guests with politicians, regulators, opinion leaders and others who shape the political and regulatory context for our business, helping them understand the significant social and economic contributions of our platform. Across the region, we are engaged in hundreds of local conversations and negotiations with governments big and small.  We engage governments at local, state, provincial and national levels directly and also use innovative advocacy and partnership strategies that actively involve our community and stakeholders in making the case for fair, progressive home sharing rules.</p>

<p><strong>The Difference You Will Make:</strong></p>

<p>The main role of the Public Policy Manager is to ensure the conception and execution of successful policy campaigns in their assigned region. In coordination with the Public Policy Lead, the Public Policy Manager will draft, develop and execute integrated government relations, communications, stakeholder engagement and mobilization plans and projects to achieve key policy objectives</p>

<p>As a Public Policy Manager, you must be meticulously organized, detail- and solutions-oriented. You are also able to see the big picture and prioritize projects strategically when needed, while understanding how to synthesize legislation, information and data that should be escalated to leadership. You should have a strong independent work ethic and excellent communication skills, and an ability to take big ideas and translate them into policy with a positive and creative outlook. The ability to develop and maintain good and strong relationships with key internal functions and stakeholders in the region and globally within Airbnb will be highly valued.</p>

<p><strong>A Typical Day:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Develop and implement Airbnb’s legislative and public policy objectives, including helping determine advocacy priorities, positions, and strategies.</li>

<li>Review legislative language, draft comments, and research issues to provide analysis and critical thinking on legislation affecting Airbnb’s priorities.</li>

<li>Maintain relationships with an extensive network of contacts in local, regional, and national legislative, executive, and administrative offices, as well as with allied groups and coalition partners.</li>

<li>Represent Airbnb in meetings with government and elected officials, as well as industry associations, Airbnb hosts, and other stakeholders.</li>

<li>Manage consultants and agencies to support campaign plans.</li>

<li>Ensure progress is reported accurately and regularly, and roadblocks are flagged in a timely fashion.</li>

<li>Work closely with cross-functional partners to make sure that policy plans fit with business priorities.</li>

<li>Monitor and track legislation and regulatory matters as directed.</li>

<li>Support as needed to help implement Airbnb’s legislative and public policy activities.</li>

<li>Lead strategic engagement with the National Assembly, ministries, regulators, and policy stakeholders.</li>

<li>Define stakeholder strategies and engagement priorities aligned with business and policy objectives.</li>

<li>Drive initiatives from concept through delivery, including planning, sequencing, internal alignment, and external follow-through.</li>

<li>Exercise sound judgment in external communications, commitments, and escalation management in sensitive policy environments.</li>

<li>Maintain structured engagement with local district offices, ensuring commitments are realistic, messaging is consistent, and execution is disciplined.</li>

<li>Anticipate political dynamics, timing risks, and stakeholder sensitivities and translate them into clear recommendations for leadership.</li>

<li>Produce concise, decision-ready briefing materials, meeting readouts, and leadership updates.</li>

<p><strong>Your Expertise:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>8+years experience working with policy issues in a relevant business, political, governmental, legislative or regulatory context.</li>

<li>Background in the National Assembly, central government, or equivalent policy-facing role preferred</li>

<li>Ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues.</li>

<li>Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and navigate a complex matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.</li>

<li>Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; planning, memo-writing and budgeting/basic accounting skills with proficiency in major computer applications.</li>

<li>Extremely creative; takes an entrepreneurial approach to the work with a proven track record of being proactive.</li>

<li>Highly results-driven and strives to find the most efficient way to do things without sacrificing a high quality of work and/or results.</li>

<li>Excellent communicator with great presentation and writing skills</li>

<li>Acute attention to detail; extremely organized and able to help keep others organized.</li>

<li>Strong work ethic, and exhibits professionalism, courtesy and strong interpersonal skills.</li>

<li>Ability to exercise judgment and maintain confidentiality.</li>

<li>Flexible with the ability to remain poised under pressure; adapts to situations as they arise.</li>

<li>Embraces change and challenges with a positive and solutions-oriented approach.</li>

<li>Self-starter with a sense of humor and the ability to thrive in a fast moving and sometimes stressful environment; ability to resolve complex and unfamiliar problems in a timely and efficient manner.</li>

<li>Passion for home-sharing and the mission of Airbnb.</li>

<li>Leadership skills and experience in managing other people and developing teams will be nice to have.</li>

<li>Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region.</li>
