<p>Databricks’ Corporate Development & Ventures team partners with leadership to identify and execute acquisitions and strategic investments to support our corporate and product strategy. The Corporate Development & Ventures Senior Associate will be a critical member of the team, helping to drive end-to-end transactions from sourcing through evaluation and execution. Databricks is among the most active strategic acquirers and investors across enterprise software, having completed 15+ acquisitions and 55+ investments since 2023.</p>

<p><strong>The impact you will have:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li><strong>Help develop M&A and investment strategy:</strong></li>

<ul>

<li>Identify and qualify high-impact M&A and Databricks Ventures opportunities by partnering with Executive leadership, Product, Engineering, and Partnerships teams.</li>

<li>Conduct strategic evaluations of M&A and investment opportunities; communicate findings in business case memos and executive presentations.</li>

<li>Build and maintain a comprehensive view of competitive and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and keep stakeholders updated on the evolving ecosystem.</li>

</ul>

<ul>

<li><strong>Support transactions end-to-end:</strong>

<ul>

<li>Lead cross-functional due diligence processes, working closely with Databricks’ cross-functional deal team during the entire transaction lifecycle.</li>

<li>Be the primary author of executive and Board materials.</li>

<li>Collaborate with our M&A Integration team to drive post-close integration planning (e.g., operational alignment, cross-functional coordination).</li>

</ul>

<li><strong>Build our Corporate Development function: </strong>

<ul>

<li>Build relationships with investors, investment bankers, founders, and other stakeholders in our ecosystem; run thesis-led outreach to originate opportunities and gather market intel.</li>

<li>Design and implement processes, templates, and tooling to enhance team efficiency and execution.</li>

<li>Help scale our cross-functional M&A processes for larger and more complex acquisitions.</li>

<p><strong>What we look for:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM fields is a plus.</li>

<li>2+ years of work experience in product management, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, corporate development, or venture capital; exposure to enterprise software or the data infrastructure sector is a plus.</li>

<li>Strong communication and writing abilities paired with rigorous qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.</li>

<li>Strong judgment, ownership, and cross-functional leadership.</li>

<li>Design to drive deal processes autonomously as the deal lead.</li>

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
