<h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2>
<h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripes engineering teams using Ruby, Java, and Scala</li>
<li>Build, develop, test and deploy software infrastructure</li>
<li>Design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design</li>
<li>Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation</li>
<li>Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack</li>
<li>Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints</li>
<li>Work with engineers across Stripe to build new features at large-scale</li>
<li>Build new systems to securely store and reliably modify production systems</li>
<li>Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>Who you are</strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.</span></p>
<h3><strong>Minimum requirements</strong></h3>
<p>Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of experience in software development.</p>
<p><strong>Position also requires the following:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2 years of experience working with Ruby, Java, Scala, or Go</li>
<li>2 years of experience implementing industry standard design patterns</li>
<li>2 years of experience building full-stack or backend applications at scale</li>
<li>2 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs, services, and distributed systems at scale</li>
<li>2 years of experience writing unit tests and performing manual testing of complex software changes</li>
</ul>
<p>Salary: $190,400 - $285,600/yr.</p>
<p>This salary range represents the base salary range for the role and any sales commissions/sales bonuses targets, if applicable, would be in addition to the base salary.</p>
<p>40 hrs/week</p>
<p>50% Telecommuting Permitted.</p>
<p>Multiple Positions Available.</p>
