<h2><strong>About the Job</strong></h2>

<p>This role is on the Operations Technology Team. Our team focuses on building features and tools to support internal departments like Customer Support , Task Logistics , Marketing , Tasker Success etc, as they manage our marketplace and work with our Clients and our Taskers. Our charter is to provide Operations with the internally applicable, intelligent tooling required to grow our business, optimize our resources, and protect our community. Our goal is that every job gets done with a high quality experience for the user.</p>

<p>Our Operations Technology Team is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer.  As a senior engineer, you'll be one of the leaders of the team, helping to mentor junior engineers, proposing creative solutions, and de-tangling the complex into the simple. We believe strongly in test-driven development and code reviews. </p>

<h2><strong>You will be required to:</strong></h2>

<ul>

<li>Working across the entire tech stack in a cross functional team to build end-to-end features.</li>

<li>Collaborate with design and product management to conceptualize new product features from the ground up</li>

<li>Building out backend APIs to support clients, taskers, and internal users</li>

<li>Understand how to organize code across the stack: what belongs in the frontend, what in the back</li>

<li>Architect and create complex solutions to backend challenges</li>

<li>Work alongside more junior software engineers to help them think through designs, code implementation, and how to break down their goals into actionable steps</li>

<li>Participate in code reviews, listening to feedback and commenting on other approaches</li>

<li>Invest in the documentation of best practices and coding patterns</li>

<li>Help solve complex debugging, testability, and deployability problems</li>

<li>Collaborate across teams to promote consistency</li>

<li>Contributing to our technical roadmap of ongoing improvements, enhancements and updates</li>

<li>Providing technical leadership and communicating overall progress to Engineering Leadership</li>

</ul>

<h2><strong>You should have:</strong></h2>

<ul>

<li>5+ years of experience, comfortable working independently</li>

<li>Proficient with Ruby/Rails, Javascript, React.js, Next.js , Node.js</li>

<li>Experience building API-driven applications</li>

<li>Understand how to organize code across the stack: what belongs in the frontend, what in the back</li>

<li>Comfortable with test frameworks</li>

<li>A strong advocate of clean code</li>

</ul>

<h2><strong>You might be a fit if you have:</strong></h2>

<ul>

<li>Experience with event-driven architecture.</li>

<li>Experience with modeling mappings and leveraging ElasticSearch</li>

<li>Any GraphQL or Federated API layer experience</li>

<li>Familiarity  with automated testing and JS build and packaging systems like Webpack and Jest</li>

<li>Experience leading and delivering cross-functional projects.</li>

<li>A growth mindset and a desire to learn, teach, and mentor others.</li>

</ul>

<h2><strong>Compensation & Benefits: </strong></h2>

<p>At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent, and equitable. Total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks. The base pay range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000. This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.</p><div class="content-conclusion"><h2><span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>You’ll love working here because:</strong></span></h2>
