Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for many aspects of financial reporting and will work directly with the Assistant Controller to develop new processes and procedures.

Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities

<ul>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Initiate and post journal entries, prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, and research &amp; resolve issues as needed</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for one or more regional offices, including performing variance analysis</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Research accounting guidance and prepare memos</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Assist in development of new processes and procedures to improve month end close and financial reporting, and improve coordination between property accounting and corporate accounting</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Assist in departmental initiatives to improve efficiency and utilization of available tools, including newly implemented ERP</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Analyze expenses and assist in budget preparation</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Prepare audit related requests and other duties as assigned</li>

</ul>

Education &amp; Experience

<ul>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree. Preference in Accounting or Finance</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Multifamily property accounting experience preferred</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Deep understanding of financial concepts</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills</li>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;">Proven organizational skills with attention to detail</li>

</ul>
