Director, Product Management - AI Observability

<p>Datadog is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead our AI Observability portfolio and shape how organizations build, monitor, and scale AI systems in production. This role leads LLM Observability and helps define the next wave of innovation across GPU Monitoring, Distributed AI Monitoring, and emerging research-oriented tooling such as Model Lab.<br><br></p>

<p>You will set the vision and strategy for this rapidly growing area, expanding established products while incubating new capabilities that deliver deep visibility into AI infrastructure, model performance, and distributed AI environments. As AI becomes core to modern applications, this team plays a critical role in ensuring customers can deploy and scale AI with confidence.<br><br></p>

<p>We’re looking for a builder-minded product leader with strong technical depth and hands-on curiosity - someone who has built or worked closely with AI-powered products and understands the realities of production AI. You will lead a team of product managers and partner closely with engineering and design to advance Datadog’s leadership in AI observability.<br><br></p>

<p><strong>What You’ll Do: </strong></p>

<ul>

<li><strong>Own the vision and strategy</strong> for AI-driven products, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and customer needs. This will include managing our embed program to enhance the capabilities of existing products as well as developing dedicated and independent AI products.</li>

<li><strong>Lead and mentor a team</strong> of product managers, helping them grow and advance their careers while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, AI-powered features.</li>

<li><strong>Collaborate with cross-functional teams</strong> including engineering, data science, marketing, and sales to deliver AI product solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.</li>

<li><strong>Identify new opportunities</strong> for AI product innovation and drive them from concept to execution, ensuring they have a measurable impact on our customers and the business.</li>

<li><strong>Work closely with customers and stakeholders</strong> to deeply understand their pain points, ensuring that AI solutions are delivering tangible value and solving real-world problems.</li>

<li><strong>Define AI product roadmaps</strong> and manage the prioritization of features and initiatives to ensure the team’s efforts are aligned with business goals.</li>

<li><strong>Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making</strong> by working closely with data science and analytics teams to inform product strategy and validate assumptions.</li>

<li><strong>Promote a product-first mindset</strong> across the organization, ensuring that the user experience and business value are central to every product decision.</li>

<li><strong>Foster a culture of innovation and excellence</strong> in AI product development, ensuring that Datadog remains a leader in AI-powered observability and security solutions.<br><br></li>

<p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p>

<li>You have proven experience in AI product management, with a track record of successfully leading the development and delivery of AI-driven products and solutions.</li>

<li>You have deep technical knowledge of AI technologies and a strong understanding of machine learning, data science, and related fields, with the ability to translate these capabilities into compelling product experiences.</li>

<li>You have successfully led product teams, including mentoring and developing product managers, while balancing the need for leadership and hands-on execution.</li>

<li>You are skilled at prioritizing and delivering complex product roadmaps, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic goals.</li>

<li>You are experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, data science, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-impact AI products.</li>

<li>You have a customer-first mindset, always striving to understand and solve customer pain points through innovative AI-driven solutions.</li>

<li>You are a strong communicator and influencer, capable of building relationships with senior leadership, engineering teams, and external stakeholders to drive alignment and move initiatives forward.</li>

<li>You have a proven ability to manage large-scale AI product initiatives, balancing technical feasibility, user experience, and business impact.</li>

<li><strong data-renderer-mark="true">Requirement</strong> - Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output.</li>

<li><strong data-renderer-mark="true">Bonus/Plus - </strong>You’re motivated to push the boundaries of how AI can improve software engineering best practices and contribute to building AI-enabled products.<br><br></li>
