About the Role

At Virgin Atlantic UK in the Airlines space, Empowering Everyone to Take on the World with Love and Purpose.

Finance at Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays isn’t just about numbers. It’s about engaging with people from across the business, helping them to achieve their goals and objectives whilst staying commercially focused. From buying aircraft to managing our award winning Clubhouses, we’re involved. We’re a multinational operation within an intensely dynamic and competitive industry. With this in mind, our finance team needs to make sure we challenge effectively, meet targets and understand strategies. With our business partners, our financial experts are responsible for business strategy, growth and, ultimately, the profit and loss of our trading businesses – Virgin Atlantic Airways and Virgin Holidays. A role in Finance means you’re delivering decisions that make an impact on the ground, in the air and beyond. Developing your career in our evolving business means working alongside some seriously driven individuals. You’ll share our passion for the brand and serving our customers. You’ll be at the heart of our organisation, influencing important decisions that could transform the business. Finance Business Partners work across the airline to build an infrastructure that enables effective management and make sure decision making aligns with the airline’s overall strategic goals and we work collaboratively with Virgin Holidays. As a conduit between the business and management, you must have great interpersonal skills, professional rigor, objectivity and be proactive. You’ll need to keep an eye out for potential opportunities and help the business stay resilient. Through building trust and accountability with various senior stakeholders and being involved with strategic projects these roles are varied, interesting and challenging (and it’s a fun team to be a part of). Finance Business Partners create flexibility for each Business area and encourage change, driving the importance of relationship and communication through the use of their business acumen, and technical expertise. The ability to translate the numbers into a business story is vital.
