Director, Global Delivery Excellence

Databricks Learning & Enablement upskills data and AI teams worldwide so customers, partners, and employees can best leverage Databricks to drive business outcomes. We are hiring a Global Delivery leader to lead our global team and to evolve how we deliver training for an AI-first world. You will own staffing strategy and instructor readiness across our FTE and authorized training partner (ATP) workforce, run an AI-first delivery operation, and advance the shift from traditional, catalog-based instructor-led training toward customized, customer-specific delivery. This role is the right fit if you lead from data, develop best-in-industry instructors, and want to reshape a delivery model rather than just run it.

Scope of Impact

Owns the global training delivery function across customer, partner, and internal audiences.

Owns instructor staffing and readiness strategy: balances FTE and ATP supply and forecasts skilling, language, and location needs through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

Translates L&E delivery strategy into execution: FTE-first regional sufficiency, with ATP to fulfill additional needs.

Leads the evolution of the delivery model toward AI-first operations and customized, customer-specific training.

Influences cross-functionally across Training Ops, Curriculum and Certification, and field GTM.

Leadership

Sets Vision: Connects the team's daily delivery work to L&E's mission and to the shift toward an AI-first operating model.

Sets Strategy: Sets 12-month goals, plans, and measures for delivery capacity and quality, and makes FTE-versus-ATP trade-offs grounded in demand data.

Builds Teams: Hires, coaches, and develops a high-performing global instructor team, and builds the skilling pathways that keep instructor capability ahead of demand.

Drives Execution: Delivers training at quality and at sustainable pace, running proactive, data-driven capacity planning in place of reactive intake.

Champions Culture: Makes company-first capacity decisions and protects customer experience, including virtual-first scheduling that minimizes customer travel.

Skills & Expertise

Technical bar: Demonstrated depth in data, analytics, and AI and the Databricks platform; Databricks certification preferred.

Workforce and capacity planning: Balances an employed and partner instructor workforce against forecasted demand by skilling area, language, and location.

Data fluency: Uses utilization, instructor quality scoring, CSAT, and coverage data to direct the team and defend resourcing decisions.

AI-first operating model: Applies AI across the delivery operation, including forecasting, scheduling, instructor prep, assessment, and instructor enablement.

Instructor development: Designs and runs instructor development and train-the-trainer programs, and evaluates delivery effectiveness.

What we look for

Multiple years of people-leadership directly managing technical instructors, including a global, multi-region team.

Experience across the full training lifecycle: design, delivery, and evaluation.

A track record building and scaling instructor capacity across both employed and partner or contract workforces.

Proven technical depth in data, analytics, and AI; Databricks certification preferred.

May occasionally support selling the training offering to customers; this is secondary to the staffing, skilling, and delivery-model mandate.

How success is measured

Instructor quality scoring, CSAT, HDUs delivered, Learners enabled, Training delivery backlog, and regional capacity coverage.

Why This Is a Most Loved Workplace® Certified Job
Systemic Collaboration
As Databricks continues our rapid growth, we strive to maintain a culture as open and transparent as it was in Databricks’s early days. Making sure employees have regular access to our CEO and co-founders to hear directly about our vision and priorities helps our employees forge a connection between Databricks priorities and their daily work.
Positive Vision for the Future
Databricks’ culture principles are derived from an internal study of the behaviors that have led to high impact work at Databricks. These values have a direct impact on company culture and play a large part in connecting teams across the organization. We believe in being customer-obsessed, truth-seeking, operating from first principles, having a bias for action, and putting Databricks first. Our co-founders are fully involved in day-to-day operations, including business and technical reviews, working alongside our team members to ensure that we are always aligned with our values.
Alignment of Values
Databricks’ CEO and Co-founder, Ali Ghodsi leads by example with a focus on truth-seeking and first principles thinking, two of Databricks’ core values that stay true to Databricks’s origins in academia. He champions the importance of data and reason to question biases and inform decisions. Ali remains hands-on with research and development and hosts company-wide weekly all hands, with a CEO “ask me anytime” session at the beginning of every agenda. His transparency and accessibility are core to the open and collaborative culture of Databricks.
Respect
At Databricks, we cultivate an environment where all employees can bring their unique selves and are empowered to do the best work of their careers. To ensure all voices are heard and ideas are valued, we conduct annual culture and pulse surveys and host all-hands Q&As to collect feedback from all employees. We then report back to Databricks on the specific changes implemented from the feedback collected to ensure employees feel heard and that their feedback is valued. In addition, we invest in our seven Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that offer support and employee engagement events for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and allies.
Killer Outcomes
Databricks prioritizes offering an exceptional employee experience by investing in tools, workspaces, and community-building. Our collaboration-first, hybrid model offers flexibility with in-person touchpoints like our annual employee kickoff, weekly CEO all-hands with happy hours, and monthly team building budgets. We are especially focused on maintaining a culture of transparency, honesty, and trust, with leaders actively engaging across channels like Slack and all hands while also championing inclusion efforts through ERG sponsorship. These initiatives help our team feel connected, valued, and empowered to do their best work.
