Users can create a short URL from a long URL or an original URL.
Users can be redirected to the original URL from the short URL.
Optionally support a custom Alias for short URLs.
Optionally support an expiration time for short URLs.
The system should be low latency on redirects, approximately 200 milliseconds.
The system should be able to scale to support 100 million daily active users and 1 billion URLs.
The system needs to ensure uniqueness of short codes.
The system should prioritize availability over strong consistency, allowing for eventual consistency.
