About the Role

At Vidmob, a Most Loved Workplace® certified employer in the Media & Entertainment space, Creative Data Powers Smarter Ads and Better Marketing Decisions.

Vidmob is the creative data company. Its scoring software and analytics have become an essential ingredient in the creative and media decisions of the world’s largest marketers and agencies, as they strive to drive business results through improved creative effectiveness. As the leader in creative data, Vidmob’s influence lies in its partnerships and integrations across the digital ad ecosystem, its dozens of proprietary models, and in operating the industry’s most robustly instrumented human-reinforcement learning model for creativity. About the role: We are seeking an experienced Staff DevOps Engineer for a hybrid role to architect, scale, and automate our cloud infrastructure, as well as serve as a tech lead for infrastructure security. As a growing startup, we believe process is the servant of results. We need a pragmatic, hands-on technical leader who builds robust systems that provide control and visibility without introducing process for process's sake. Our global team interacts in English, so strong written and spoken English skills are essential. Because AI is transforming how products are built and deployed, you need to be an AI-forward practitioner. You will actively look for ways to weave AI into Vidmob’s DevOps operations to automate toil, improve alerting, and accelerate delivery. In this role, you will operate and scale our primary infrastructure in AWS while spearheading our aggressive expansion into GCP to leverage Vertex AI. You will act as the Individual Contributor (IC) engineering lead for security execution and site reliability engineering (SRE) practice, and partner closely with our Data Science and Engineering teams to build scalable MLOps pipelines. What you’ll do: Architect Multi-Cloud Infrastructure: Assist in the the design and provisioning of our infrastructure. We are primarily an AWS environment, but you will architect and scale our growing footprint in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support advanced AI workloads. Lead Security Implementations: Act as the lead IC engineer for security execution. You will be the critical bridge implementing InfoSec policies and SOC-2 requirements into our infrastructure and codebase. Drive SRE Practice : Define and instrument SLOs/SLIs across critical services, lead incident response (on-call, postmortems, error budgets), and build out observability — metrics, traces, structured logs — to reduce toil and detect issues before they reach customers. Automate with an AI-First Mindset: You will build, optimize, and maintain automated testing and deployment pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and GitOps principles. You will actively integrate AI tools (coding assistants, AIOps, intelligent monitoring) to automate and improve internal platform operations. Drive MLOps and Data Infrastructure: Provision and manage the infrastructure for our heavy data and AI workloads. Build seamless model deployment pipelines and support infrastructure for Vertex AI, Amazon SageMaker, Databricks, Snowflake, and BigQuery. Manage Containerized Workloads: Orchestrate container deployments using Kubernetes (EKS/GKE) and ECS. Implement self-healing mechanisms and autoscaling based on runtime metrics. Create Execution Clarity: Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Data Science, Product) to surface dependencies early. Produce crisp technical artifacts, architectural decision records (ADRs), and communicate clearly to prevent surprises and eliminate thrashing. Build Right-Sized Processes: Continually iterate on how we deploy and scale. Implement lightweight feedback loops and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation) practices that make the organization faster and more adaptive, not heavier. Non-Human Identity Management : Create NHID processes and automation to ensure rapid and secure integration of tools and processes without manual, human overhead. What we’re looking for: Senior Technical Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE in fast-paced SaaS, platform, or data-heavy environments. Cloud Expertise: Deep architectural-level expertise in AWS (primary), combined with strong working knowledge or a fast ramp-up capability in GCP to support our expansion. SRE Foundations : Hands-on experience with SLO/SLI definition, error budgets, on-call rotations, blameless postmortems, and incident command. Observability : Strong working knowledge of Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and structured logging — both designing and instrumenting. Automate-first mindset : guardrails and processes are important and more automatable than ever. You build up systems with high automation and observability that enforce security without slowing down delivery. GitLab & Automation: Deep expertise in GitLab CI/CD. You are a champion of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and GitOps methodologies. MLOps & AI Infrastructure: Hands-on experience supporting machine learning pipelines, deploying models to production, and managing infrastructure like Vertex AI or SageMaker. AI-Forward Practitioner: You don't just talk about AI; you actively use modern AI tools to accelerate scripting, automation, risk management, and communication. You’re constantly scanning the horizon for ways to use technology to further improve platform speed and reliability. Security Execution: Proven experience implementing cloud security best practices (DevSecOps) and supporting compliance frameworks (like SOC-2) at the infrastructure level. Pragmatic Mindset: You care more about shipping working, reliable infrastructure and adapting to change than you do about perfect charts. You know how to unblock multi-team initiatives with real dependencies and ambiguity. Direct & Proactive Communication: Excellent writing and artifact discipline. You are clear and convincing when discussing architectural trade-offs with both feature teams and engineering leadership. Industry Background: Familiarity with AdTech, MarTech, or handling high-volume data pipelines and platform APIs is a massive plus. English fluency: B2+ skills in written and oral English a must. Ownership & Technical Leadership: You own outcomes, not just tasks. You lead critical infrastructure initiatives across teams, ensuring alignment, durability, and measurable impact on platform performance and developer velocity.
